Interior Upgrades
The most common interior home improvements we handle are kitchen and bath remodels, flooring upgrades, cabinet refacing and replacement, custom built-ins, trim and crown molding additions, and full interior repaints. Each upgrade is approached as a finished project, not a punch-list — we plan the order of operations so paint goes on after trim, trim goes on after floors, floors go in after subfloor prep, and so on. The result is a project that looks intentional, not pieced together.

What's the difference between home improvement and home repair?
Home improvement is discretionary — you're choosing to upgrade something that's already functional (refacing cabinets, adding a deck, finishing a basement). Home repair is reactive — fixing something that broke, leaks, or stopped working. Most homeowners do a mix of both over the years; we handle both, but the conversation, planning, and timeline are different.
Which home improvements return the most resale value?
In the Atlanta market, kitchen and bathroom remodels, garage door replacement, exterior paint and curb appeal upgrades, and deck/outdoor living additions tend to recoup the highest percentage at sale. Whole-house additions return less per dollar but increase total home value. Specialty improvements like a pool or extensive landscaping rarely pay back fully but improve quality of life. We're honest about which projects move appraised value and which are primarily for enjoyment.
Do home improvements require permits?
It depends on scope. Cosmetic updates (paint, flooring, fixtures, cabinet refacing) typically don't require permits. Anything structural, plumbing relocations, electrical circuit changes, deck additions, room additions, or changes to the building envelope generally do. We handle permits for any project that needs one — homeowners shouldn't have to navigate the permit office.
Can I live in the house during a home improvement project?
For most projects, yes. We isolate work areas with plastic, keep tools and materials contained, clean up daily, and sequence trades so daily life isn't unduly disrupted. The exceptions are whole-house gut renovations and full kitchen rebuilds — those often warrant a few weeks in a short-term rental. We discuss this honestly upfront so you can plan.
