A new countertop can transform the look and functionality of your kitchen or bathroom. Catalino Quality Construction provides professional countertop installation throughout Marietta, Roswell, and the greater Atlanta area. Whether you prefer the elegance of granite, the durability of premium quartz, the warmth of butcher block, or the affordability of laminate, we install it with precision and care.

Material Options

We work with all major countertop materials. Quartz from manufacturers like Cambria is engineered stone — extremely durable, non-porous, and consistent in pattern. Granite offers natural beauty and one-of-a-kind veining; it requires periodic sealing but holds up well to heat and knife work. Butcher block brings warmth and tactility to kitchens and islands and can be refinished over time. Laminate is the most budget-friendly option and modern HD prints convincingly mimic stone. We help you compare material samples in your home's lighting before you commit.

Our Installation Process

Every installation begins with a precise on-site template using either digital measurement or cardboard scribing. The template captures exact wall conditions, sink and cooktop cutouts, edge profiles, and seam locations. We then coordinate fabrication with the slab yard or supplier. On install day, we carefully remove existing tops, prep and level the cabinetry as needed, set the new material, complete cutouts for sinks and faucets, and seal seams. Plumbing reconnection and a final inspection follow.

Edges, Seams, and Finish Details

The details that distinguish quality countertop work — straight seams placed where they're least visible, consistent edge profiles, tight scribing to walls, proper overhang and support — are the ones we sweat. Robert Catalino has nearly 15 years of experience setting stone and engineered tops, and we treat every reveal as something the homeowner will see every day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which countertop material is best for a busy kitchen?

Quartz is the most forgiving material for a heavily used kitchen — it's non-porous, never needs sealing, and resists stains and scratches better than natural stone. Granite is a strong second choice with more natural variation but requires periodic sealing. Butcher block offers warmth and is repairable by sanding, but needs oiling and is not ideal next to sinks. Laminate is the most affordable option and modern designs look far better than older generations, but it's not heat-resistant. We help you weigh durability, look, and budget during the estimate.

How long does countertop installation take?

From templating to install, plan on two to three weeks for natural stone or quartz — most of that time is fabrication, not labor in your home. The actual installation day is usually three to six hours for a typical kitchen. Laminate and butcher block are faster, often installed within a week of order. We handle scheduling so your kitchen downtime is minimized.

Do you remove and dispose of the old countertops?

Yes. Removal of the existing countertops, backsplash demolition if needed, and disposal are included in the estimate unless you'd prefer to handle a section yourself. We protect cabinets, floors, and appliances during demo and clean up thoroughly before leaving.

Can you install a new countertop on existing cabinets?

In most cases, yes — provided the existing cabinets are level, structurally sound, and capable of supporting the new material's weight. Stone slabs are heavy and require properly built base cabinets. We evaluate the cabinets during the in-home measurement and tell you honestly if any reinforcement or cabinet refacing work is needed before the new tops go in.
